Nature Walk @Isla

Samar slightly tamed his mess of hair effortlessly. It was almost like it was meant to be cutely unkempt, but it was honestly that he just thought, ‘Eh. Good enough.’ Generally, he was so lazy in the mornings before school he’d just throw a beanie on and dub that worthy, but he thought it’d be nice to feel the warm wind today. He pulled on a plaid button up over his grey t-shirt and made his way towards the door.

The sound of ‘Mouth’s Cradle’ radiated in Sam’s ears as he watched his feet move across the pavement. He didn’t have to look ahead of him to know where he was going. He’d gone to the Nature Center hundreds of times just to take photos and wander. It was one of his favorite places. Isla was an interesting girl. Surprisingly sweet, despite being one of the popular crowd. Not to say Sam wasn’t worthy of such a status. His brother was pretty popular, so that made him pretty alright in that crowd’s eyes, but he had no interest for fame.

He was definitely more of a laid back person and that’s how he liked things. He made it to the entrance of the Nature Center and planted himself on a picnic table just outside to wait for Isla to arrive. 

Although the idea of a nature walk wasn’t her ideal activity, Isla just wanted an excuse to get out of the house. She didn’t really know Samar personally but they’ve exchanged a few friendly smiles and waves in the halls for the past couple years. Tonight would be a good chance to make a new friend. 

After some batting of her eyelashes and pleading Isla finally convinced her parents to let her go out tonight. Her parents weren’t the strict kind, but they were always a little uneasy about letting her or her brother go out on school nights. She walked over to her closet and pulled out a part of light jeans with a fitted black tank, and a grey victoria secret hoodie to go over. After tying the last shoelace on her black converse, Isla headed out the door and jumped in her car making her way over to the nature center.

Although it was a nice night she didn’t want to walk any more than necessary. Although she spent her time in what was considered to be the popular crowd her upbeat, friendly personality made her likable to a majority of the people in Degrassi. She was never one to judge people on where they fit. If you were nic to her than she was nice to you and thats how it was. Not more than 10 minutes and she arrived at the nature center.  After parking her car Isla showed her smartphone into her pocket and made her way towards the entrance. SHe noticed Samar sitting right outside on top of a picnic table so with a smile on her face she walked up to him “Hey, were you waiting long?”

Make it 20, I’ll need an extra five minutes to convince my parents that I won’t get raped and/or murdered if they let me go :P
